Laura was induced a little early because Jayden was showing up on ultrasounds as too small. Doctors worried that he wasn't get sufficient nutrients from Laura in utero, so they wanted to bring him early to evaluate the situation. Thankfully, God intervened and little Jayden was born, not-so-little. he weighed in at a wonderfully-average 7 pounds 2 ounces!
Laura handled labor well and hardly pushed at all. Matthew looked every part the "first-time dad' as he beamed with excitement (then nervousness, then excitement again)!
Matthew's family- the Gomez's- were (as always) fun to be around while we all waited for Jayden. I thanked them at one point in the day for being normal. Then I wondered if maybe, in this situation, the Laniers are the abnormal ones. (Highly likely!)
Without further ado, here is the newest addition to our extended family.
