I missed a lot during the month-long blog break I took. Here's some random stuff to catch you up...
Micah got a loft bed. This was them playing in it right after Terry finished putting it together. Caleb's toddler bed broke during our move, so now he sleeps on just the mattress on the floor. They love it. Caleb fell off the top once. I was right beside him but he just sort of plunged backwards really fast. He landed on his back and it totally freaked me out. He's been much safer since then.
We've created "weekend boxes" for Saturday mornings. Every Friday night I set out these boxes. I put a juice box and some sort of sweet breakfast snack in it. Two things they never get otherwise! I also put a small toy in the boxes. We went to Party City one day and stocked up on little party favors that cost something like 15 cents each.
When the boys get up on Saturday morning, they see the boxes and immediately know it's Saturday-- the day when Mommy and Daddy get to sleep late. It's fun to listen to them discover their treats from our bedroom. They get so excited! And we don't have to get out of bed at 6 a.m. to make oatmeal!
Thank goodness for James Dobson's Bringing Up Boys. If I'd never read it, then I'm sure my rowdy boys would miss out on so many fun things because their mom would be more concerned with "orderly fun" than the crazy action boys seem to crave. The favorite pasttime in our house is jumping from our ottomans onto our couch. Other parents get mad when we send their kids home after playdates, because this is a game Micah and Caleb just love to share with other kids!

You got some good jumping shots! I bet these pics will make Ashley so happy she's having a boy. :)
...but I should add, my girls do the same thing. Only this Girl Mom only lets them do it a few times. :)
I LOVE the "Saturday basket idea" however, I don't think Parker is old enough to entertain himself long enough to let us sleep. Maybe once he is a little older I can let him and the new baby do the same thing...wonderful idea!!
You guys are SO creative!! Love that basket idea!! I'll have to remember that!
