Caleb turned four months old on August 21. I packed away his newborn and 0-3 month clothes. And I realized, as I looked through Micah's old 6-12 month clothes, that this was probably my favorite stage of Micah's. With every new shirt or pajamas I pulled out, I immediately had a memory of good times! This upcoming time period is when, in only 6 short months, you watch your baby eat, sit, crawl, and walk for the first time. It's an incredible and incredibly fast time period!
And I'm so excited that I'm approaching these precious months with Caleb! He'll be sitting on his own before we know it (his pediatrician commented that he is 'tripod'ing very well for only four months!). He's in the fiftieth percentile in his weight and height. The pediatrician said we don't need to start baby food or cereal until we feel Caleb is ready (we have a different ped. now than we did when Micah was a baby). So we'll be waiting a bit longer to start cereal. Caleb is still doing the tongue-thrust nursing thing when foreign food is brought near his little lips.
He's still nursing every three hours, even through out the night. He's a quick eater, which is really helpful. Micah always lingered during meals and they lasted 30 minutes on average. Caleb doesn't need longer than 10.
Caleb likes to rub his head. He does it when he's excited, sleepy, or agitated.
Except we do miss having a sleeping baby in our arms! So when we get the rare opportunity, we enjoy it!
But the best part about Caleb's sleeping habits is how he falls asleep at night. All we do is change his diaper, put him in his pjs, and lie him on his back on the couch, with the boppy around his head so he can burrow into it if he feels like it. He'll talk to the light on the ceiling until he drifts to sleep!
I NEVER would have let Micah sleep in our bed. And I never would have propped him up with pillows (a big SIDS no-n0). I don't know if that's me getting more laidback (lazy) with baby #2 or if we're just getting smarter and better able to figure out how to make this parenting stuff easiest and most efficient.
Caleb got four shots yesterday (Micah and I also got the flu shot) and it didn't sit well with him. He had a fever and was a sad, little thing all day. Here he is with my grandma. Enjoying some time away from screaming big brother, I imagine!
Hiding from Micah during hide and seek.
Big brother Micah is thrilled that Caleb is getting bigger. He's ready to run and play together!

He looks SO big. I can't imagine going to 3-6 month clothes yet. I feel the same way you do about a lot of the laidback/smarter things. :) I think our #2 baby forces that out of us if we want to stay sane!
What a big boy!
He is so cute! That is too funny that he likes to bury his head. Parker is in 6 month clothes...3-6 are already too small. I get so upset when he wears an outfit only once ;( They do grow up WAY too fast!!!
Caleb is growing up too fast!! I just love those pictures of him--he's so cute!
I love him :)
