Weeks 31 and 32

Tomorrow I will be 32 weeks along. I'm growing steadily and getting bigger by the day.

Week 31

Me And My Body
I will have increased breathlessness - I should try to rest and slow down.

It's recommended that I wear a maternity/sleep bra to help with the "inevitable" back pain.

Micah
Our baby is about 16 inches long and weighs about 3lb.

The lungs are developed and if Tater was born prematurely, he would be able to take in air into the lungs and breathe properly.

Micah's brain is still growing.

He can feel pain and will move when prodded. (My new favorite game is to lightly poke him or smoosh him to see what he'll do!)

Week 32

Me And My Body
If Micah is head down (which he has been for at least two weeks), his legs may reach up to my ribs and cause discomfort, especially if the little feet get caught in my rib cage. (I should avoid this by sitting up straight always). (No rib cage kicks yet, but I did have a dream once that I had a bruise right below my ribs because that day Micah had been kicking me in the same spot over and over again! Right now he's positioned with his back against my stomach, so all of his kicks are against my insides and not my belly. This is actually much more comfortable.)

I may develop varicose veins, swollen feet and ankles (called edema). (Thankfully no varicose veins or *fingers crossed* stretch marks yet, but my swollen ankles are a sight to see!)

It is recommended that I try to spend time singing and talking to our little guy. (I do! You can ask Terry- I'm always yelling for him to get off my bladder!)

Micah
Tater is about 16 and a half inches long and weighs about 3lb 8oz (notice how much he grew in just one week!)

He is becoming familiar with my voice and his daddy's. He should be able to recognize it immediately after birth!
