Busy, busy

Things are a mess around here. Micah's been extra whiny since we moved. I think he's just now starting to get accustomed to the new surroundings. Our hope is to have everything done this weekend and let life get back to normal.

An extra area of stress is my job. It's hard to get into job-mode from home sometimes. Especially when I've got so many things staring me in the face that need to be done. One of the biggest pluses about the new house is having an office. We painted it a light brown color and I've been looking around to buy a desk. My goal was to set up a really inviting, cozy space for me to work. A space where I could leave work stuff strewn around as I worked on it.

Now, when I work I pull everything from a bag and have to sift through it before I can get back on track and find where I left off. Then when I'm done, I pack it up again. The only problem is that the room we designated as the office doesn't have a cable outlet for the computer. So, I still don't have an office set up and I'm going crazy.

Just last week I was telling Terry how I feel that this job is such a blessing. Not many moms are lucky enough to find a job that will look good on their resume, continue to bring in decent money, and only have to work out of the house one day a week. When I manage to get through a work day not wanting to strangle my boss, the job feels perfect.

But, last night I was stressed and admitted to him that the job sometimes feels like a trap. It brings in enough money that it would be difficult to ever leave the position. We could never justify just walking away and leaving money on the table. We know God can do things that we can't even imagine (like give Terry a raise in January, and then a promotion in March! How awesome is that?) so we're praying for peace over the situation. But, until then, my goal will still be to set my office up and decrease the stress.

Hmmm...I think my baby blog has turned into more of a mommy blog. Sorry!

Here's a baby story: If you say to Micah, "What does a lion say?" He'll answer, "Grrrrrrr!!!"
