Crazy, crazy Caleb!

Caleb is more than 10 months old now. He's measuring in the 75th percentile for length, 25th percentile for weight, and 25th percentile for head measurements.

He is currently teething a fang. Yes, that's right, a fang. He's got his two bottom teeth, but instead of his two top teeth coming in next, the ones on either side of his top teeth are poking through. Fangs! He's a bad teether- up several times a night and very whiny during the day. So even though we've passed the "I'm-sick,-please-hold-me" phase we're now in the "I'm-teething,-please-hold-me" phase. I've had to get creative using my sling. I've used it on my back a few times, like a papoose I guess. That's the only way I can cook anything. I figured that out after a container of ground beef exploded blood and Caleb was inches away from being splattered at my feet!

Even though he's pretty needy about being in pain, he's a TROOPER when it comes to taking punches (and shoves, and hits, and stomps) from his big brother. While Caleb still isn't big enough for Micah to wrestle with (to Micah's dissapointment) he is big enough to play with. Micah likes to get Caleb to chase him around the house. They like to stand at the head of our bed and jump together. And their favorite thing is to just hang out in Micah's bedroom playing with toys.

Caleb has adopted his dad's picky eating habits. He has suddenly refused any form of baby food. Which has lead me to figure out that he also doesn't like fresh bananas, strawberries, raspberries, peaches, blackberries, green beans, black beans, or chicken. He will, however, eat yogurt, bagels, goldfish, carrots, oatmeal, and rice cakes. I hate meal and snack time because he's so messy. I know I've mentioned to a lot of you how incredibly tactile Caleb is. Well, mealtime is no different. Only about 5 % of his food makes it into his stomach. THe majority of it gets chewed, spat back out, and then smooshed into hair, clothes, and the crevices of the highchair. I've considered more than once, just taking the chair out back to hose it down.

MORE ABOUT CALEB:

Favorite toy: anything that's Micah's
Favorite food: yogurt
Favorite game: being tossed into the air
Least favorite thing: bananas
Favorite song: Um, who sits still long enough to hear a song?
Favorite book: See above
Bedtime: 8 p.m.
Wake time: 6 a.m.
Naps: 3 that last about 40 minutes
Favorite passtime: pointing at people and things
Weirdness: If you ask him where your nose is, he'll stick his finger in your mouth everytime.
Hates: loud noises. The vaccuum and the sound of bath water running especially.
While Micah gets adored for his eyelashes, every where we go people comment on Caleb's smile. Such a great grin!

No, not walking. He can stand by himself for a nano-second but he doesn't appear interested in walking yet.

Man is he handsome!! Between him and Parker, Annabel has some really good pickin's. :)
And you poor thing with him only taking a 40 minute nap. That sounds dreadfully short!
