Alone Time

The last few weeks have brought up something interesting. We've made an attempt to begin spending parent time with our children alone. As in mommy and daddy with just Micah or just Caleb. We took Micah to the rodeo on opening day this year. (Didn't take any pictures, sorry! But Emily did a great post about our 'adults only" trip to the rodeo this past Saturday. Read it here.) Caleb stayed behind with Grandma. Micah asked a few times where Caleb was and I'll admit that being without one family member was a little odd. But we know how important it will be for both boys to have a chance to be alone with us.

Something we also figured out was how EASY having just a three-year-old would be! Sometimes I get so wrapped up in being needed all the time and having to watch Caleb all of the time that I forget how quickly babies grow out of this stage. If Micah were left alone in our house he'd do a pretty good job of taking care of himself.

And for those of you who don't get to chat with him on a regular basis, lets do some Q&A to see just how grown-up he is lately...

Where do we live?
In Cypress, Texas.

What's Daddy's job?
Say no to Caleb.

What's Mommy's job?
Say no to me so me doesn't... so me is... cause me is bad to Caleb.

What's your job?
Me take care of Caleb.

How old is Caleb?
Ummmmm.... twelve. One. He is two. No he is three. He is... he is four. He is eight. He is nine. He is seven. He is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. I can't know what Caleb's...how old Caleb is. I can't remember how old Caleb is.

Where do we buy groceries?
At the grocery store.

Which grocery store does Mommy like?
Kroget.

Do you like Kroger?
Yes. Kro-GET. Me call it KroGET. Funny name.

What do like to buy at Kroger?
I like to buy crackers.

What kind?
Orange. Orange crackers.

What do they tast like?
Oranges.

Do you know how to bathe yourself?
Yes.

How?
Like three-year old boys.

What do you wash first? (I think he heard what do you watch first.)
Um. Cartoons.

Do you know how to turn the tv on?
Yes

How?
Push the button and it will turn on.

Are you supposed to touch the tv?
No, but you touch remotes. Me touch remotes? Or you? Yes, I can touch remotes. But when me turn the tv on me says, ROOOAR!! That's how me touches.

Micah, do you like to ride in the car?
Yes. But not a long, long time.

Do we drive a long, long time alot?
No just a little.

Where's your favorite place to drive to?
To uh, Chick-fil-A and Stomping Ground.

What do you do at Chick-fil-a?
Um, play and just play. What do you do at Chick-fil-a?

I eat.
Ok. Goodbye! (And he runs off. Interview over.)

Yes my favorite blog posts ever are the Q&A with Micahs. Oh my goodness, literally laughing out loud. (Hazel came over to see what was so funny and was a bit bewildered that it was just words. haha)
