Seriously

We are seriously in love with our boys. In love with the atmosphere of our home right now. Check out what we get to live with...

It's all smiles and laughter!

Except when it's "mean face" time.

A closer look at this ferocious scowl...

Micah's at that age where he's started getting very particular about his clothes. He always wants to wear these pants with the attached belt, even though they're getting a little short on him. He says he likes the belt "cause it's like daddy!" So I bought him some belts he could wear with any of his pants. Turns out it was a waste of money cause he only likes the attached belt. go figure.

He got quite a few monster shirts (and other clothes, too) at his monster birthday party. When we went to check on him before we went to bed that night we found him fast asleep with a very neat arrangement of his new clothes laid out on the floor.

Caleb likes to crawl under our barstools and set up shop there.

Playing with Hazel at Stomping Ground.

My boys love band time.

Mommy and Son

Ever wonder where Micah got his cheeks or chin from?

Here's the only picture I thought to take at the rodeo. Micah bought this glow stick there. He associates the toy with the rodeo now so when he plays with it at home he yells, "Go horses, go horses!"

All smiles!

"Mid-Air" Micah at a gymnastics party. Look at that form! Arms open, toes pointed!
And some stories to write down before we forget them...

MICAH
Micah loves the Astros. He's been to see them a handful of times and what he remembers best is the train at Minute Maid Park. For his birthday he got a t-ball set and Terry took him to the park to play it. Terry said that Micah kept asking where the train was at this ball park. When Terry explained that not all baseball parks have a train Micah begged to go home and get one of his toy trains!

We've been trying to explain some very difficult concepts to Micah lately. Namely back-talk and lying. Both very abstract ideas to explain to a three year old. He's officially in a "why" phase now. It drives me up the wall because more often than not it is just his way of postponing the inevitable. As in, "Micah, go brush your teeth." "Why?" We tried telling him that asking why after we've told him to do something is back-talking. And that if he has a question about something we've asked of him then he should say, "Yes, ma'am. Why?" to show first and foremost that he's being obedient. He's taken this to the extreme and now we hear this around the house...
"Micah, go brush your teeth."
"Yes, ma'am. Why?"
"Because they're dirty."
"Yes. ma'am. Why?"
"Because you just had breakfast."
"Yes, ma'am. Why?"
"Because we eat breakfast in the morning to store up energy."
"Yes, ma'am. Why?"

All we've really done is turn him from a nagging little boy to a polite, nagging little boy!

I showed him the photos of him as a baby that are in yesterday's post. He said, "My hair is spiky." I said "Yep." He was quiet for a very long time. Just sitting and looking at the pictures. Then he said, "Is it with gel?"

CALEB
I truly think Caleb might never walk or talk. He's a very impatient person and he's discovered that pointing and crawling are highly efficient ways of communication and travel.
He points at everything. Everyone. We're in the grocery store and I'm paying and I'll look up and Caleb is sitting completely still, mouth open, long arm and finger pointed directly at the nice lady checking us out. And he'll point at her the whole time. Just stare and point.

My prayers have been answered and Caleb is finally, truly sleeping through the night and taking naps of an hour to an hour and a half now. This great sleeping schedule makes us both much happier and better rested.

And now Caleb's personality is really on display. He loves to grab, touch, poke, pull and climb. Of course, as their parents, Terry and I think both kids are pretty smart. But we can already see that their brains work differently. While Micah is a very thoughtful child and could be happy sitting and playing games online all day of we'd let him, it's our guess that Caleb would rather take the computer apart and have a look inside it than play the games on it. Now he's not yet 11 months old, so that's just a guess, of course. But he's very hands-on so far.

Things are rocking and rolling at the Domino house. We seriously couldn't ask for anything more. Seriously.

Your boys are SO CUTE!! I used to be a "why" whiner when I was a kid. I used to drive my Mom nuts! :) I know I will have paybacks coming my way...
