Quick Updates on Caleb

Since Caleb was born I've felt like I've been in catch-up mode! And that includes this stinkin' blog! I can't keep up. I've got about 4 blogs in line waiting to be written and I can't sit still to do it. New Year's Resolution- be less busy!!!

Ok, so in an attempt to spill these thoughts from my mind and mentally cross them off my "blog topics" list, here are some updates about Caleb...

We've actually had two big accomplishments! One- He's slept through the night for two nights now (and by that I mean he has a few crying spouts every few hours and then falls back asleep without our help)! It was HARD work getting him there- he fought it- but we're here at last! Well, unless I messed it up last night by sneaking into his room at 4 a.m. to find his pacifier for him.I thought I'd give it to him really quickly and he'd stop fussing and fall back asleep. Instead, he was wide awake and when he saw me, his crying got louder, and continued until 7 a.m. So, we'll see if I've undone all of our hard work tonight.
BUT- those first two nights of him sleeping all the way through were glorious!!!

Second cool thing- he's crawling! He still keeps his tummy on the floor, so it's just army crawling, but he's scootin' around the floor all day now! It started the day before Thanksgiving and he's been getting faster and faster! It's been an adjustment to quickly get non-baby items off the floor!

So, taking into consideration these two things- his mood is greatly improved! He's more well-rested and he can crawl to get toys and explore the world. This makes for a happier baby and we're so glad we're officially out of the newborn/infant stage! It was a doozy! And we're lovin' this new baby who giggles and grabs!

More about baby Domino:

He likes his pacifier to be upside down.
He likes background noise while he falls asleep.
He hates trying new food. The faces he makes are so funny.
He likes to get his way. He is so, so stubborn!
He likes feeding himself crackers.
He still rubs his head and pulls his hair when he's overly tired.
He hates when big brother yells.
He likes to be on the kitchen tile where his banging hands can make plopping noises.
He loves peekaboo.

Hazel army crawled too - I think it's the cutest thing to see their little hineys wiggle around! Way to go on getting him to sleep through the night. I don't know if I would've had the stamina you've had these last 7 months!
Unrelated - Hazel saw the poop picture on your blog and said, "Uh oh! Poopies yucky gross!"

I remember when we were little, Mom and Dad had to set a timer for Erin because she was such a picky eater. And she was also stubborn enough that she'd just sit there and stare them down. Maybe stubborness is a second child thing? ;) Surely not, right Mrs. Domino? Jk, jk...
