Halloween

Before we headed down to church on Friday night for Trunk or Treat, we took some pictures.

This is Micah's mean cowboy face. I love the little smirk!

Caleb's costume came with this cute lillypad that croaked when you pushed the flower. The big feet of his costume looked so precious when he'd kick them. Very frog-like! A little girl at church asked if she could kiss him. I think she must have remembered the story of the frog-prince and was hoping for a royal transformation!

I tried to teach Micah how to make a gun with his fingers and it just turned into pointing. "Bang, bang!"

Terry's office dresses up for Halloween. So they took photos together before Terry took the costume off. I tried to get him to wear it to church but he said, 'No way.'

Trunk or Treat was just as crazy as last year. Micah got a ton of candy. The trunks were decorated really great- there was Toy Story, Three Little Pigs, Sherlock by the fireside, Pirates, and The Crash Test Dummies, among others.

One of the best parts of the night, to me, was watching Micah go through his candy. He was genuinely excited by every piece he pulled out! And he lined them up nice and neat just like his Mama would have. Then he counted his many, many Smarties.

On Saturday, we weren't really sure what to do for actual Halloween. Since so many of our family is in the Sugar Land area and they'd all asked to see the boys, we headed that way.
Great Grandma and Pa got a kick out of the kids (we met up with Strawberry cousin Adriah there.)

Next we made a quick stop at Pawpaw and Nonnas.

Then we headed to the church where I grew up. Their "Safe Halloween" was a much better fit for our little family. The games are much less crowded and Micah wasn't as overwhelmed and he had a much better time here than at our church. Maybe we'll start going to Friendship every year until the boys can handle the chaos that comes with our bigger church. Aunt Mel and my mom made appearances, but Caleb was completely wiped out and I couldn't take any pictures of them once he was asleep in my arms.

Cutest pictures ever!! I love the mean cowboy face. THAT'S the pic you should enlarge and put on the wall. :) Did Micah plan to be a cowboy because Terry was? I wish I had seen Caleb kick his frog legs.
