A Good Friend

I think having a baby is a bit like growing a third arm. It affects everything you'll ever do again for the rest of your life. And so when you are around someone else who has a third arm, all you seem to do is talk about techiniques and hurdles regarding conquering life with three arms.

And so, when Emily, Lindsey and I get together, all Emily and I can do is gush on and on about placentas, epidurals, teething, weaning, baby blogs, schools, and how our children will, without a doubt, choose one another as their mate. And poor Lindsey, happily childless, sits by listening, commenting, and smiling, while, I'm assuming, she is secretly plotting her own death or has possibly tuned us out so she can play the movie Goonies in her head.

In the last three months Lindsey has spent two or three 5 hour drives to Dallas listening to "the Emily and Sarah baby hour." And outside of the car she's probably clocked around 20 hours of uninterrupted child chatter.

So, in honor of Lindsey and her endless patience, A Top Ten List!

The Top Ten Reasons Why I Love Lindsey Druian:

10. She never once complained about how often Terry was around when we were roommates.
9. Like me, she probably actually hates the movie Goonies.
8. She loves playing with Micah.
7. She is always up for anything!
6. She looks smokin' in a sari!
5. She is a strong Christian and offers great Biblical advice.
4. She has an amazing ability to find awesome bargains when shopping!
3. She writes funny comments in her scrapbooks.
2. She makes amazing food and shares it with me!
1. She's a great, great, friend who is a rock for me and always, always there when I need her!
