I grab one of Micah’s creamsicles in an effort to satisfy my hunger for something sweet and cold. It’s something I never usually eat; don’t even like to keep in the house. I bought them during our last stage of potty training to use as rewards.
Micah comes bounding around the corner and I think I know what he is going to say when he’s sees my snack: “Me have that?”
It’s something that’s become quite the joke in our house. No matter what you are eating, Micah will ask for a bite. His ears perk up at the sound of the refrigerator or freezer door opening. And he’s especially sensitive to the unwrapping of cellophane.
So when he enters the room and his eyebrows arch as he looks at my orange treat, I know what to expect. And I have my answer at the ready: No, because you didn’t take a nap today.
Instead, Micah says, “’Tcha eatin’ Momma?”
I answer, “A popsicle.”
But, instead of asking for a bite, he asks, “Why? Did you go on the big potty?”
So, in the end- not what I had expected to hear at all! But, I should have. ‘Cause, after all, to him- popsicles are rewards for the big boy potty!

Christopher is the SAME way!! He hears a wrapper or the fridge door open, and he is there in a heartbeat!
Way to go, Sarah! High Five! Do the potty dance! :)
