Terry and I have been giving so, so much thought to the landscape of our childrens' future, and we were encouraged to hear Pastor Larry speak of the goal of parenting: raising God-reliant kids.
Copperfield Church does a great job with it's dedications. We were given a crocheted blanket and a Baby's First New Testament with Caleb's full name imprinted on front. Pastor Larry held Caleb while we were on stage. The whole time we were up there I kept looking at Micah's scared little face and thinking he was going to cry. It's a lot to deal with for a little guy- being under all the lights and looking at all those people who are looking back at you! He made it through ok (I think partly because we'd told him to check out the drumset while we were onstage!). Caleb did great, didn't cry a bit.
We had a lot of family come to share the event with us. When the sermon covered "parenting through the generations" I couldn't help but think of how all of those there with us were making their impact and leaving their marks on our children. Thank you to all of you who came. Thank you for continually praying for our family. And thank you for your efforts to be good role models for our boys.
Caleb, when you read this someday, please know that you are loved endlessly and we are so, so very thankful for your prescence in our family. Your daddy and I cannot get enough of your giant gummy smile and we are very honored to be your parents. We promise to try our hardest to raise you to be God-reliant. You and your brother are our greatest blessings.

Micah's smile in the posed picture is GREAT! I loved getting to be there this time. Makes me wish we went to church together.
