Today marks the first month of Caleb's life. It's hard not to get emotional and already start thinking he's growing up too fast. They're only babies for a nano-second and it's hard to make sure you take advantage of every minute!
Caleb changes nearly every day. Some days I think he looks so much like Terry, other days I wake up and look at him and see me in his little face. He's still skinny enough to wear newborn clothes, but he's growing out of them length-wise.
He's finally over the 3 week growth spurt and the last 2 nights he's slept 5 hours (9 to 2) and 3 hours. I still wake up to check on him a lot, so I haven't been able to take advantage of the better hours yet. I'm sure I'll adjust soon.
Over the last few days Micah has been getting bolder and more agressive when it comes to dealing with Caleb. I've been working with him on learning to pat and rub instead of push and pull. Today I was nursing Caleb and Micah was playing with his feet. All of a sudden Caleb pulled away screaming. I found teeth marks on Caleb's foot and that was the end of play time for Micah. Needless to say I was unprepared on what to do with Micah in that situation. As far as I know he's never bitten another kid, I don't why he chose to start with his own brother. My heart broke for poor little Caleb, but he got over it quickly. Which bodes well for him seeing as how he probably has a good deal more brother-induced ouchies in his future.
(This picture of Caleb and Addie was taken on Mother's Day. I guess I kept forgetting to post it. I think it's hillarious of Caleb. He was mid-yawn.)
