Giggles

Micah is so much fun! He's like my little buddy! I think he's got a hysterical sense of humor--for the most part. I can crack him up with funny faces or peek-a-boo. He loves when I use his hands to "pop" my inflated cheeks. But, he also laughs at some things that are a little odd. Like the word "splash." There's something about the way I said it one day in the bathtub that made him break out in a fit of giggles. So of course Terry and I use that one anytime we're looking for a smile. But, he's smart. Too smart to still think it's funny after the 17th time. He gets bored and moves on, much to our disapointment.

Today I was feeding him his lunch, and I was talking to him to keep him engaged, and out of nowhere I said, "Live from New York, It's Saturday night!" Well, in baby-speak that must have been one helluva punch line because he lost it and couldn't regain enough composure to continue eating for several minutes.

Today he figured out that he could spew food by making a razzing sound with his lips just after he's taken a bite. This new talent, although side-splittingly funny to him, wasn't so great for me. Don't get me wrong- the first couple of times it was darn cute, but cleaning up after him isn't as much fun!

Yesterday morning he was still running a slight fever from his flu shot and a wonderful thing happened. He sat still! He'd had a rough night of sleep and had woken up pretty early. I wasn't quite ready to get up yet, so I got him and brought him back to bed with me. Normally when I do this, he crawls all around me while I play defense until I'm awake enough to start the day. This time his fever made him groggy and I pulled him up beside me, and we cuddled and watched Disney's Playhouse. I just kept thinking... "More of this! How can I get more of this!?" Because it doesn't get any better!!
