So, in my last blog I went on and on about the wonder that is Micah.
Now allow me to tell you what a little terror he's been today and yesterday.
He's slowly been turning into a...SCREAMER! First it was just out of sheer glee from finding his little voice. He'd yell at the ceiling fan as if to say, "Hey! Look at me down here!"
Then, once he knew just how loud he could get, it turned into pleas for attention. If, heaven forbid, he didn't have anyone cooing over him for 5 seconds, he'd let out shrill, short screams. I think he was just trying to remind us that he was there.
But, now that he has discovered the full extent of his lungs, he is using them often, to the detriment of his tired mom. Today and yesterday he's just decided to cry and scream for 30 minutes at a time a few times a day. Now, I know you're thinking 1 of 2 things. And you'd be wrong on both counts. For those of you out there saying it's colic- nope. He's too old to be getting colicky. For those of you thinking he must need something or be sick- nope. Each time he's screamed, he's not tired, has a clean diaper, a full tummy, and plenty of attention from his mom. It's not his acid relfux, because the crying isn't happening during feedings, and it doesn't stop when I sit him upright. It's not the fact that his teething, (which he is) because even sucking on a teething ring or wet wash cloth, and getting Tylenol (yes, I tried) didn't end the tantrum.
So, any of you out there choose option 3--plain 'ole feeling like he wants to cry? If you did, then DING DING DING! You would be right! There is no foreseeable reason why Micah would feel like screaming, but here's my best guess and sorry excuse for women's intuition.
I think he's ready to run. I do. I think he's so miserable being stuck in this teeny body that won't allow him to go where he wants. He's so active and hyper most of the time, too, so you know it's killing him to be at the mercy of where others want to take him.
He was starting to whine after a nap Monday and so I went to his room to get him up from his crib. When I saw his face, it so clearly said to me, "What took you so long, lady? Don't you know I'm stuck here on my back looking at the same silly stuff until you come get me?"
