Terry has started reading to Tater at night. He really loves doing it, too! We read that if you read the same book a lot while they're in the womb, once they're born and you read the same story, they show signs that they can recognize it.
So, we went to Babies R Us and Terry took his sweet time choosing just the perfect book. It's called "But Not the Hippopotamus!" It's about animals joining in events and playing together, but the hippo is shy so he doesn't join.
I'm sure at this point I enjoy the reading more than the baby. In fact, if I could only get Terry to read me the next Harry Potter, that'd be fantastic.
Once Tater's born he'll have even more books to look at thanks to Aunt Kelly and Uncle Kyle. They bought him Alphabet and Number pictures books from the Baseball Hall of Fame!

i just learned about that in class... that if you read them the same story or play them the same song they will react to it after they are born. i also learned that they learn the mothers voice... like her tones and the way she talks and that when the baby is born and crys it actually mimics the way the mother talks. interesting.
