Game Night!

If you know Terry and I then you know that we like board games. In fact, I'm pretty sure we had kids just so we could play teams!

Micah seems to have inherited our love for playing and so we decided that he was old enough to have our very first, much awaited, sure to be repeated, Domino Game Night!

We started with Chutes and Ladders...

Then we made delicious, organic, (except for the turkey pepperoni that Micah HAD to have!) homemade pizzas!

I even let the boys hae Koolaid. Which is a big deal in our house! I feel like I might as well just hand them the sugar bowl and a spoon!

Micah made brownies early in the day. He was excited to sprinkle them with all these colors. He's got a pretty colorgul Kool-aid mustache, too!

Then it was time for Caleb to play with Daddy before he went to bed. Terry kept trying to interact with him and Caleb would get up and show Terry different toys to play with, away from Caleb. That's why they're sitting with their backs to each other! Caleb wanted some alone time to play with his favorite toy right now- his trains!

We let Caleb stay up while we played Mousetrap on Wii. Then he went to bed and Micah got a special treat- staying up late! (It's a tool I picked up in The Birth Order Book- being intentional about giving the first born more priviliedges. If you ever have an extra hour to kill, I'll share with you why I think this book is a must-read for everyone!)

And this is where the pictures stop. Because once Caleb went to bed we got serious about playing Life (Again on Wii. It's the Family Game Night 3.)

Our first game night was awesome! At the end of the night I gushed to Terry about when the kids are old enough to bring friends to play, and then girlfriends, and then grandbabies! It was a much-needed restful night with our kids that are growing so quickly!

And we're really excited that we'll have the chance to have more family nights when we move in 2 months. We'll be verrrry close to Terry's office which will save him an hour and a half in drive time every day! Less drive time means more Daddy!

I look forward to those days too! Right now, Hazel and I can play Memory together, which is sweet. But it's definitely not as riveting as Life! :)
