Nighty-Night!

Micah is in his new toddler bed right now! We figured the baby would require the crib and changing table in 6 months and there's no time like the present to get Micah adjusted to new surroundings. Better to do it now than wait until he's getting used to new baby and new bed all at the same time.

We bought a toddler bed which is the same size as his crib, just open on the sides and much lower to the ground. It's pretty darn cute! And we tried to buy him new bedding that would keep with the color scheme of the animals on his wall, cause I know he couldn't go without them.

Even as we were setting the bed up tonight I kept thinking, "this is absurd; Micah will never, ever stay put!" He was excited watching us put it together and as soon as he could he gathered his night-time stuffed animals and carried them to bed with him. And despite a little normal balking at bed time, he's doing great so far! He's been in his room for 30 minutes and hasn't cried or tries to escape! (we left the door open, so we'd hear if he climbed out!) We talked all afternoon about how as soon as the light goes off you can not, under any circumstances, get out of bed. So, hopefully that worked. We'll see. Here's a picture of his new bed. It doesn't look this cute anymore because we put up a side-rail to keep him from rolling off and so it blocks all the pretty colors.
