Much to Terry's chagrin, I still like to at least acknowledge our dating anniversary. January 24, 2001 was the day we became an official couple. It was a Wednesday. I remember because we'd prayed together at church that night about us dating. It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was counting weeks. Now, it's been 7 years!

Our first date is the topic of much debate. He says it was to Clear Springs, a seafood restaurant in Nacogdoches, with another couple. But, since I wasn't at all interested in him at that time, I don't consider it a date. I actually think of it as being more of a favor to the friend who set us up (thanks again, Emily!). I think of our first date as the time we went to see How The Grinch Stole Christmas. It was the first time we went out where there was mutual attraction!

Even back then, Terry was all about kids. He talked so much about kids when he was first trying to get my attention that I thought he must have been faking it. Turns out it was genuine!

People always say we started our family too soon after getting married. We were pregnant about a month after our first anniversary. But, it didn't seem fast to us. By the time we had Micah, we'd been together 6 years. And, even though the majority of those years weren't spent married, that was just a title to us. We only waited that long to finish college first. In actuality, I knew I was going to marry him three weeks into our relationship.

So, I'll leave you with a bit of knowledge I learned from the brilliant cinematic gem that is "Scott Baio is 46 and Pregnant."

"The best gift you can give to your child is really loving your spouse." That is some parenting advice I will happily follow. 7 wonderful, (nearly perfect, even) years with Terry is my greatest achievement.

You're welcome! :) Funny that Scott Baio gave such good advice!
