It appears I wrote my last blog just one day too soon. Because the very next day I was presented with more evidence that I am outnumbered. Terry and mini-Terry, the clone.
I've always given Terry a hard time about how he sleeps--like a burrito. He likes to be cocooned in the blankets. Well, two days ago I went in to check on Micah in his crib before Terry and I went to sleep for the night. And there he was--baby burrito. He was lying on part of the blanket, had a chunk between his legs, and was cuddling up to the rest of it.
But here's the kicker- Micah has devloped Terry's eating habits! When we first began feeding Micah pureed fruits and veggies he loved it all. I'd read somewhere though that it takes a baby approximately 13 tries of any food to establish whether they realy like it or not. Well, Micah has decided, when it comes to squash and green beans, he definitely does NOT! The last few times he's had these foods he's filled the house with screams and batted the spoon away so that the food in it splatters on me, him, the chair, the wall...anything within 10 feet. He purses his lips and turns his head away to let me know that he will not be tricked..."I see that you've covered the squash with pears and I am not fooled!"
The only way to outsmart him is to mix he squash or green beans with double the amount of something he does like- usually sweet potatoes or carrots. I'm going to start trying some new veggies soon. Spinach, brocolli, etc.
Meanwhile, Jessica Seinfeld (yes, Mrs. Jerry) has a new recipe book out. She's sneakily adding purreed veggies into her older children's favorite foods to get them the nutrition they need without knowing it! Very sneaky. I'm going to have to get that book. Shhh. Don't tell Terry! ;)
