Hands!

Micah just loves his hands. Ever since birth he's tried to get them to his mouth so he can suck on them. But his muscle strength and coordination isn't good enough to be able to keep them in his mouth.
He loves to suck on anything. In fact, yesterday I was rocking him to sleep. He was lying on my chest with his head up by my shoulder. He was in a deep sleep and I was about to get up and take him to his bed. First I bent my head down to kiss his little mouth, which was just barely open. When I kissed him, he grabbed my bottom lip so fast and pulled it into his mouth and started sucking with the ferocity he uses when he eats breakfast. It was hysterical and I felt so silly being all alone in the apartment and cracking up the way I did. He was so fast asleep though, that even when I jerked my lip out of his mouth he didn't wake up.
Terry and I both laugh at how Micah sleeps. Most of the time, we swaddle him, because if we don't he tries to get his hands in his mouth and he'll knock himself in the head or flail his arms around and wake himself up. We do let him nap during the day without being swaddled. Here are some pictures of the funny things he does with his hands while he sleeps...
