Costumes!

Halloween, already? Well, maybe not, but as soon as we got the first costume catalog in the mail, M & C went crazy! Every day Micah lets me know that he still wants to be Two-Face (I can't even find a costume for Two-Face!).

However, since the previous years costumes are getting so much use, I really don't mind spending the money on whatever they choose this year. Not a day goes by in our house without at least one of them spending the day as Super Why, Batman, or, their favorite, a pirate! (By the way, I've got a Mickey costume from Caleb last year if anyone's looking for a costume and wants to borrow/have it. I think its 18 months.)
Although it looks extremely posed, I did not tell them how to stand for this picture. After I tied the bandanas at their request, I asked them to be mean pirates while I snapped the photo. They chose this stance on their own!

 Sword fight!

I've been letting Micah choose the topic of his social studies. This last time he chose television (go figure!). So he learned about various jobs in the industry. Like tv reporters. Now he likes to dress up (the book we read on tv reporters said the guys wear ties) and use his toy microphone to interview us. My favorite was when he asked Terry how he makes his favorite food. (Terry was like, "Um, open the honey buns, put them on a plate, microwave them." Interview over.)

Sometimes they wear their costumes better than they wear their clothes. Red-neck Pirate?
And sometimes they mix up their costumes. Here's Caleb as a fierce, sword wielding Cowboy. Clint Eastwood, maybe?
Whatever the costume of choice, they sure do rock it! This picture of Caleb makes me think of those old commercials: "We put the YEEEE-HAW back in your motor and transmission!"

This post made me laugh a lot! I think you need to frame the one of them with their mean pirate faces.

Best blog ever! Bah! I LOVE the assorted costumes! Those boys are hilarious...I can't wait until Barrett is old enough to be fun and goofy. P.S. Tell Caleb that many a pirate has lost his tongue by sticking his hook in his mouth. He's been warned.
