August Events

A few nights ago I had one of those mommy moments that end up topping my list of memories.
I had just put Caleb down for bed and went in to check on Terry's progress getting Micah bed-ready. Instead I found Micah in his chef's hat "cooking" on a "hibachi" grill. Complete with sound effects (for the fire and steam) and knife tricks. He through his "knives" in the air. He clanged them together, he tapped them on the hibachi grill. Then he gave us menus and said he'd be back.

Oddly enough, he told Terry they were out of eggs, chicken, and rice (pretty shabby for a Japanese place, huh?) so we ordered macaroni and cheese, hamburger helper, and french fries. He took our order then turned to leave and said, "I'll have that right out for you."

He cooked at his Mickey Mouse kitchen and then served each of us. Next he used his hibachi skills once again to toss food into the air so we could catch it with our mouths.

It was great seeing him take charge of a pretend game. Even if it did make me feel like we eat out too much! He always finishes his cooking game with "washing" every dish and box of food under the sink. He's very clean and tidy!

Eileen came to play with us last week. It's hard to believe she's almost one! She's such a happy baby and she did great staying up past her bedtime. I think Micah took this picture...
We tried another bath with the three cousins. I wasn't the bath-giver but I don't think it lasted long. Doesn't she look nice and tan compared to both my sun-starved boys? They've really been cheated out of a summer with me being sick. : (

Caleb has discovered a new game...

Ta-Daaaa!

I love this post!! I love hearing about Micah's imagination...too cute! Parker likes to hide and shut us out of rooms all the time. Love how you caught the whole cabinet scene in action!
