Christmas Eve started with a Snowy service at Copperfield Church. It was, hands down, my favorite moment of Christmas. Both boys stayed with us to hear the short message and sing some songs. The decorations were magical, the snow was beautiful. We cuddled with the boys and were sitting in a long line of dear, dear friends.
Then we went straight to Mel's for good food and good conversation. Now that I'm over the first few years of parenting where every Christmas goes by in a blur of "creating moments and taking pictures" I was able to relax and just enjoy the kids having a good time.
Now that Mom lives in the city limits of Sugar Land, we were her only over-night guests. Jill and Laura and their families slept at their own houses and drove over early Christmas Day. Even though it was late, Mom helped the kids put out cookies and chocolate milk for Santa. (Caleb couldn't resist sneaking out of bed to take a big bite out of Santa's treat, though!) It was nice sitting up late with Mom and Terry. We put out the "Santa" gifts and then crashed around 1 am.
Micah woke up first on Christmas morning. And he spent the next twenty minutes begging to open his gifts. Once Caleb was awake they ran together to the living room where they found their Castle tent. Inside were the gifts they'd asked Santa for.
(Can't get all the pics from Christmas Day to load, so I'm moving on...)
They got a Knight's costume and a dragon costume to go with their castle. Once the cousins all came over they had fun "saving the princesses (me and Addie) from the dragon with Luke as a helper knight.
We played games and took our time opening gifts. It was a wonderful Christmas.

Even though you said you're past the years of Christmas being all about pictures (true!), you got some really good ones, especially the 4 of y'all, and then of you and Terry.
I didn't take one single photo this Christmas. Most of them are from Terry's phone or Mel's camera.
