What a Weekend!

This past weekend was a crazy one full of fun new things for Micah.

He went swimming for the first time! Since he enjoys his baths so much, we figured he'd like the pool, too. So, after covering him from head to toe with SPF 50, we marched out to our pool. He was a little antsy throughout the whole process, but I'm sure once he gets used to it, he'll love it. He hadn't napped well the past 2 days, and for some reason, he chose his first swim lesson to fall asleep. Once he'd napped, we brought him back out and put him in the water again. We even dunked him twice! He was pretty cute in his little shorts and cap.

That was on Saturday, and Sunday brought more big events. Micah was dedicated at our church and I got to enjoy my first Mother's Day! I'd so been looking forward to the dedication. I've prayed many times since Micah's birth that the Lord would take him and use him and protect him, but there's something about standing in front of so many people and declaring to protect Micah's innocence and morality and lead him to Christ. It's empowering to know that these people join with you in prayer for your little one. The church gave him a little blue Bible and a blue cross to hang in his window. The preacher gave him a letter that we'll save and give to him when he is old enough to understand what accepting Christ means.

Micah got many gifts from our families for his dedication, too. And we're so thankful for that.

I got some pretty good gifts for Mother's Day, too. Micah got me a massage! He knows me so well! (love you, Terry!) It was weird sitting in the service and listening to him preach about how mom's need survival skills. I know the job is a hard one, but right now, I'm rewarded enough just by Micah's smiles and giggles. I know those survival skills he spoke of will probably be more important when he's two...or a teenager!

haha! How cute, he fell asleep while swimming. By the way, you look gorgeous! I love your dress - I've never seen you in red before, I don't think, but it is definitely your color.
